What this policy covers
This policy explains how Click to Reel handles information when you use the desktop app or visit this website. It applies to the Click to Reel software and its official download pages.
Local recording and editing
Screen recordings, cursor events, audio, camera recordings, and editing data are processed on your device. Click to Reel does not upload your recordings or editing projects to our servers as part of the standard recording and export workflow.
Local speech transcription
Speech transcription runs on your device using a Whisper model downloaded in Settings. The transcript is saved with the local project. Downloading a model requires a network connection to its hosting provider; this is separate from processing the recording audio locally.
Website, downloads, and updates
When you visit this site, download the app, or check for an update, our hosting and delivery providers may receive technical connection data such as your IP address, browser or operating-system details, requested files, and timestamps. This information is used to deliver the website, downloads, and signed updates securely.
Aggregate website statistics
We count public page views and download redirects by day, page, broad referral source, and download platform. This counter does not store IP addresses, full referrer URLs, query strings, account identifiers, or visitor identifiers, and does not use analytics cookies or browser storage. It excludes account pages and respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Aggregate purchase totals come from server-confirmed orders, separately from website traffic. Hosting providers may still process connection data as described above.
Google Analytics
This website also uses Google Analytics to measure page visits, referral sources, and download-start events. This is separate from the aggregate counter above. Google may receive the page URL and technical connection information such as your IP address, and may set or read cookies. Our Analytics integration disables measurement when the browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. We do not send recording files or editing projects to Google Analytics.
Google accounts and purchases
If you sign in, we receive your Google account identifier, verified email address, and display name. We store these details, hashed login sessions, device sign-in requests, Stripe customer, order, subscription and invoice identifiers, paid period dates, and administrator gift records to connect your purchase to your account, restore access on other devices, and verify 4K export access. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, or your Google password.
Payment processing
Stripe processes payments and payment-card details. We receive payment, refund, and dispute status to manage purchased access; we do not store your card details. Account and purchase records are retained to provide your purchased access and maintain transaction records. Contact [email protected] for account and privacy requests.
How information is used
We use technical information to operate and secure the website, account access, purchases, software delivery, and update service. We do not sell recordings, project data, or personal information.
Retention and security
Your recording and project files remain under your control on your device until you export or delete them. We use reasonable safeguards for the website and download infrastructure, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
Third-party services
Downloads and update files are delivered through third-party hosting infrastructure. Those providers process requests according to their own policies. Links to external sites are governed by the policies of those sites.
Changes
We may update this policy as Click to Reel evolves. The date at the top of this page will change when we do.
